Family, Friends and the Words of Shakespeare Combine for Jenny and Sam’s Henry Ford Wedding

20171007_171811The Henry Ford , is a large indoor and outdoor history museum complex and a National Historic Landmark in the Detroit suburb of Dearborn, Michigan.  One of America’s greatest museums, one portion is The Museum of Modern Innovation which allows guests to experience the strides of America’s greatest minds while fully immersing you in their stories.  The complex has many architecturally beautiful places for wedding ceremonies and a staff of wedding coordinators that are experienced and efficient.  We had the assistance of Cindy and Gary for this wedding and appreciated their knowledge and assistance.

Family and friends played an important role throughout the day.  Jan Wilson acted as DOC for the day.  Wedding photographer Adrian Seetho, friend of the couple was on hand to capture the day.  Betsy Brown acted as videographer, Cindy Wills and Susan Stahly created the floral arrangements, and Uncle John Logue officiated the ceremony. Sam and Jenny chose the Pennsylvania Courtyard with the iconic water tower for their nuptials.  Fitting to the picturesque setting, we played the music of Bach and Handel while guests were seated.  Jenny’s Uncle, John Logue, officiated the ceremony which included Shakespeare’s Love Sonnet 116 and many sweet moments!

The cocktail hour was held in the museums “Driving America Car Court”, a premier automotive exhibit in the heart of the museum.  We played a wide selection of contemporary music and took several requests.  It was there that we noticed Jenny’s gorgeous bouquet.  When I asked “who did your flowers?”  She replied, “My family and I did and it took us about two years”.  A closer look revealed that the flowers were paper – elegantly cut and arranged to look incredibly lifelike.  A picture is worth a thousand 20171007_193444words and family members Cindy Wills and Susan Stahly clearly have special gift!  We were so honored to be a part of Jenny and Sam’s wedding day and wish them the very best and they grow together as husband and wife.

Rondo Honored with The Knots “HALL OF FAME” Award

20160916_083458

We received a tremendous honor this week!  The Knot is an online site that provides vendor information, reviews and ideas for every possible aspect of ones wedding day. Each year, this online wedding site holds a “best of weddings” competition.  Reviews from former clients are the way in which you accumulate votes.  We are so proud to have been a winner of the Best of Weddings for several years running.  This Hall of Fame trophy was awarded to us for having been voted the “BEST” by real newlyweds four or more times. While the trophy is lovely, its the fact that our former clients are so pleased with our string quartet services that they will take the time to write us a glowing review. Our 5 Star designation, the highest possible, is a point of pride for us.  We consider it an honor to be a part of any couples wedding day and work diligently to provide the best possible musical experience.  The music is a critical part of a wedding day and one that should hold memories for the newlyweds and guests alike. If you are looking for wedding music, check out any of our 70 reviews on The Knot.

A Dream You Dream Together is Reality

20160826_153645Over our 28+ years in the wedding industry, we’ve had the pleasure of playing grand weddings in elegant places, simple weddings in traditional places and alternative style weddings in urban places.  How wonderful that so many options exist for all the different types of couples in this world! Karin and Shawn planned a sweet wedding in the most traditional of places, The Martha Mary Chapel at Greenfield Village.  This simple chapel helps keep the focus on the couple and the spiritual simplicity of the wedding ceremony.  Karin wore a truly gorgeous gown.  Rather then the stark white often seen in bridal gowns, hers had the hue of the softest pink known as “sand” which added a luminescent effect.   The gown was accented with a belt of a pearly pink copied in the bridesmaids dresses.  Both Karin and her attendants processed to Jesu, Joy of Man’s Desiring.  Denise Tucker of Perfect Day Celebrations opened the ceremony with a prayer. We thought it was a lovely touch and the perfect way to allow the couple to collect their thoughts before proceeding into the exchange of vows.  The ceremony included a quote from John Lennon, ” ‘A dream you dream alone is only a dream. A dream you dream together is reality.”

Kate McCellan from  Purple Clover Events executed the day beautifully. From cues for us to the movement of the bridal party and organization of the photographer from Mike Staff Productions and other vendors, no element was left unattended. 20160826_153741Parsonage Flowers created arrangements that went beyond just flowers with texture and foliage that suited this historic setting.

The ceremony seemed well suited for this beautiful couple who communicated a endearing love, kindness and sense of humor with each other.  We wish Shawn and Karin the very best and thank them for the honor of being a part of their special wedding day.

Wedding at Historic Chapel of Greenfield Village Unites a Family

Congratulations to Stacy and Tim who were married recently at the Mary and Martha Chapel of Greenfield Village.  At the head and highest spot in Greenfield Village, Henry Ford built this chapel in 1929. The chapel is one of six non-denominational chapels built around the country as a tribute to Mr. & Mrs. Ford’s mothers, Martha Bryant & Mary Litogot Ford.

Adam Reilly of Beacon Baptist Church officiated the ceremony and did a beautiful job incorporating Tim’s son and daughter into the special day.  The couple chose all contemporary music including Lady Gaga, Coldplay, The Verve, Katy Perry and more.  The families processed to “Candle on the Water”, a song made famous in the Disney movie Pete’s Dragon.  In a touching moment, Stacy and Tim involved their children in the sand unity ceremony while we played “Rainbow Connection”.

It was a beautiful day at the Village made even more so by the creation of a new family.  We wish Stacy, Tim and their children the very best as they begin their lives together.

Beautiful Weather Delivers for Garden Wedding at The Henry Ford

Congratulations to Chelsey and Donnie who were married last week in the Ginger Meyer Garden at Lovett Hall, part of the Henry Ford campus.  It was a beautiful day for an outdoor wedding and as always, the staff at Henry Ford does a fantastic job of preparing for an elegant event.  Our thanks go out to them for their help with cues and all the ways they assist us.

Chelsey’s mother, Kim, was a pleasure to work with throughout the planning.  It was obvious that she was delighted with Donnie becoming a part of the family.  The large bridal party walked to Jesu, Joy of Man’s Desiring.  Chelsey, wearing a gorgeous gown, processed to the famous Pachelbel Canon escorted by her two brothers.

Following the ceremony, the guests enjoyed cocktails inside Lovett Hall.  We had the pleasure of playing for the cocktail hour and the classical music made an appropriate background to the classic elegance of Lovett Hall. Best wishes to Donnie and Chelsey as they begin their lives together.

Henry Ford Museum Wedding

Congratulations to Lauren and Kyle! They were married in the Pennsylvania Courtyard at the Henry Ford Museum in Dearborn. The courtyard is an open-air venue with a unique pump house at the center. The brick, windows, and other fixtures make this an elegant and beautiful place for a wedding. After the ceremony, we were asked to play some upbeat classical selections in the Clocktower Foyer. Thank-you to the Henry Ford wedding coordinators for all of your help.
