Historic Estate Lovers Exchange Vows at Meadowbrook Hall

Meadow Brook HallA late summer day in the Pegasus garden seemed like the perfect setting for Emman and Mohamed to exchange their wedding vows. The couple enjoys touring historic homes and their affection for Meadowbrook was evident in their choice of the great estate as the site of their wedding along with the opportunity they provided for their guests to tour the mansion.  This was a day for family and friends to celebrate this beautiful couple and it started with a welcome and introductions by Dr. Ali Dabaja followed by arrival of the cutest Quaran holder in a fully decorated wagon.   The honorable Judge David Turfe officiated the ceremony which included a touching speech by Emman’s father and the spoken vows that each had written for the other.  After playing for the ceremony, we moved to the terrace and played a variety of music for the cocktail hour.  Both Steve from Studio 41 and Fairy Tale Production were present to capture the day and make lasting memories.  While we did not stay for the reception, the smells from Byblos Banquet Hall were enticing and no doubt Heather Anne Bakery outdid themselves with the cake and sweets.  Yasmeenas Flowers created lush arrangements for the bridal party and reception that stood out as truly unique, much like this unique couple and their enjoyment of history.  It is our hope that like Meadowbrook, their love will stand the test of time. Best wishes to Emman and Mohamed.

Rondo Honored with The Knots “HALL OF FAME” Award

We received a tremendous honor this week!  The Knot is an online site that provides vendor information, reviews and ideas for every possible aspect of ones wedding day. Each year, this online wedding site holds a “best of weddings” competition.  Reviews from former clients are the way in which you accumulate votes.  We are so proud to have been a winner of the Best of Weddings for several years running.  This Hall of Fame trophy was awarded to us for having been voted the “BEST” by real newlyweds four or more times. While the trophy is lovely, its the fact that our former clients are so pleased with our string quartet services that they will take the time to write us a glowing review. Our 5 Star designation, the highest possible, is a point of pride for us.  We consider it an honor to be a part of any couples wedding day and work diligently to provide the best possible musical experience.  The music is a critical part of a wedding day and one that should hold memories for the newlyweds and guests alike. If you are looking for wedding music, check out any of our 70 reviews on The Knot.

Bagpipes Lead the Processional at Meadowbrook Hall

Despite a chilly start to the day, Laura and Toby had their dream wedding at the Rock Garden of Meadowbrook Hall last weekend.  Wedding coordinators Ann of Emerald City and Lisa of Meadowbrook were on hand to insure that the event ran smoothly.  The weather was too chilly for our wood instruments so we were located in the sun room and ran our speaker system outside so that our music was audible to the guests.  The ceremony began and ended with a processional led by bagpipes.  The nod to Scotland continued with the groom and his groomsmen looking the traditional Scottish part in their kilts.  We send Toby and Laura our best wishes as they begin married life.

Tradition and Contemporary Mix at Meadow Brook Hall Wedding

Congratulations to Jaclyn and Colin on their wedding last weekend in the Pegasus Garden at Meadow Brook Hall. The couple chose traditional music for the ceremony including the Bridal Chorus for Jaclyn’s processional. The bridesmaids wore red gowns, symbolic of good luck, and walked to Canon in D. It’s worth mentioning that Zoie, the beautiful flower girl and Liam, a handsome ring bearer carrying a teddy bear, did an awesome job! Once again, we had the pleasure of working with Reverend Gerald O’Grady and his wife, Lucy. It’s a pleasure to work with fellow professionals on a frequent basis. We know that the event will run on time and smoothly with them at the helm. Following the ceremony, the couple greeted their guests while we played contemporary music, setting the stage for the celebration to come. Songs like Love Story by Taylor Swift, Don’t Stop Believin’, Fields of Gold, Viva La Vida by Coldplay and several Motown hits helped the guests in the mood for the reception. We send Colin and Jaclyn our best wishes as they begin their lives together.

Thank-you for your wonderful review!

My daughter was married June 25th 2011 at First English Lutheran Church in Grosse Pointe Woods, Michigan. Rondo String Quartet provided the music for the wedding ceremony. I cannot say enough good things about their kindness, their cooperation, their service, their punctuality, their professionalism, and above all, their beautiful, beautiful, music. Their music provided the perfect atmosphere of warmth, formality, and spirituality for my daughter’s wedding ceremony. Allison Rhoades and her string quartet made my daughter’s wedding a memorable affair that people are still talking about. Thank you. Allison and members of the Rondo String Quartet.

Wedding at Northbrook Presbyterian Church/Reception at Meadowbrook Hall

Congratulations to Hilary and Douglas! They were married on January 15, 2011 at the Northbrook Presbyterian Church in Beverly Hills. Hilary was wearing a fairy tale dress which she had purchased in Italy, and her mother’s veil which her mother had worn at her own wedding 29 years earlier. Hilary’s father co-presided over the ceremony and gave a beautiful and touching homily. We were asked to play ‘Kanon’, ‘Jesu Joy’, ‘Trumpet Tune’, and ‘Brandenburg 5’. We also accompanied a friend of the family, Rebecca Meyers, on ‘The Wedding Song’. Thank-you to MPE Event Productions for your wedding coordination. After the ceremony, we moved to Meadowbrook Hall and played a variety of selections including ‘Leroy Anderson’s Blue Tango’, ‘I Feel Fine by the Beatles’, ‘Bitter Sweet Symphony’, ‘Falling Slowly’, and ‘Viva La Vida’. We wish Hilary and Douglas all the best in their new life together!

Pegasus Garden Wedding at Meadowbrook Hall

Congratulations to Yiesung and Jin and their wedding at the Pegasus Garden of Meadowbrook Hall. Often referred to as one of America’s “castles,” the 110-room, 88,000-square-foot mansion is currently ranked fourth on the list of Largest Historic Homes in the United States. Traditionally known as the Breakfast Garden because of its location off the Breakfast Room, this Pegasus Garden is enclosed with brick walls and provides a beautiful setting for a wedding ceremony. Despite a brief shower, the wedding proceeded as planned in the garden. Pastor Kim spoke eloquently about the importance of the presence of God within a marriage. The bride’s mother and sister wore traditional South Korean dresses which added a unique beauty to the ceremony. The bridal party wore lovely black dresses that contrasted with the white hydrangeas in their bouquets. Yiesung chose the traditional Wagner Bridal Chorus and Wedding March for her processional and recessional. Following the ceremony, the guests moved to the terrace for a cocktail hour while we serenaded them with a wide variety of music. We wish Yiesung and Jin the very best as they begin their new life together.

New Review on Gigmasters.com

Thank-you, Leslie, for your wonderful review on Gigmasters.com!

“The Rondo String Quartet was absolutely wonderful and I would definitely recommend them to anyone looking for a talented, professional string quartet. They made my wedding ceremony everything that I had envisioned. Booking them was entirely stress free. They have a packet of information that lets you spell out exactly what you want long before the special day. Their list of songs is absolutely incredible and I am sure that they can acommodate almost everything.”
