A Dream You Dream Together is Reality

20160826_153645Over our 28+ years in the wedding industry, we’ve had the pleasure of playing grand weddings in elegant places, simple weddings in traditional places and alternative style weddings in urban places.  How wonderful that so many options exist for all the different types of couples in this world! Karin and Shawn planned a sweet wedding in the most traditional of places, The Martha Mary Chapel at Greenfield Village.  This simple chapel helps keep the focus on the couple and the spiritual simplicity of the wedding ceremony.  Karin wore a truly gorgeous gown.  Rather then the stark white often seen in bridal gowns, hers had the hue of the softest pink known as “sand” which added a luminescent effect.   The gown was accented with a belt of a pearly pink copied in the bridesmaids dresses.  Both Karin and her attendants processed to Jesu, Joy of Man’s Desiring.  Denise Tucker of Perfect Day Celebrations opened the ceremony with a prayer. We thought it was a lovely touch and the perfect way to allow the couple to collect their thoughts before proceeding into the exchange of vows.  The ceremony included a quote from John Lennon, ” ‘A dream you dream alone is only a dream. A dream you dream together is reality.”

Kate McCellan from  Purple Clover Events executed the day beautifully. From cues for us to the movement of the bridal party and organization of the photographer from Mike Staff Productions and other vendors, no element was left unattended. 20160826_153741Parsonage Flowers created arrangements that went beyond just flowers with texture and foliage that suited this historic setting.

The ceremony seemed well suited for this beautiful couple who communicated a endearing love, kindness and sense of humor with each other.  We wish Shawn and Karin the very best and thank them for the honor of being a part of their special wedding day.

New Yorkers Liven Up Wedding and Celebration at The Henry Ford

It was a gorgeous day at the Henry Ford for the wedding of Elizabeth and Matthew!  The ceremony was held in the Pennsylvania Courtyard with the elegant floral arrangements of Christopher and Company.  The couple chose romantic music including It Had to Be You, Moon River, Here Comes the Sun and All You Need Is Love.  Carol, wedding coordinator for the Henry Ford, is always a delight to work with and her depth of experience insures that the day will run without a hitch.  Following the ceremony, we moved inside to the Clock Tower Hallway and played the cocktail hour.  Several of the guests were from New York, and so our rendition of Sinatra’s New York, New York was a big hit as was Smooth by Santana, Fields of Gold by Sting, the music of Coldplay and Journey.  Pat, coordinator for the cocktail hour, was also very helpful in finding us the perfect location that kept us out of the way of the 200 guests but still in the heart of the party.  The guests were already dancing in the hall so we knew a great party was yet to come for Matthew and Elizabeth.  We send our best wishes and congratulations on a beautiful wedding!

A Family Event: Wedding and Cocktails at The Henry Ford

Congratulations to Jonathon and Maureen on their wedding at Henry Ford Museum this past weekend. The ceremony was held in the Pennsylvania Courtyard and officiated by the groom’s father, Reverend Dal Stanton. We wish to thank Carol, ceremony coordinator at the Henry Ford for her assistance throughout the evening. The couple chose all classical music for their wedding including several pieces by Bach and Handel. The flowers were especially lovely and we were delighted to discover that our colleagues at One Enchanted Evening were again the source! Rev. Stanton was able to bring much sentiment and personality to the ceremony which the guests enjoyed.
Following the ceremony, the couple went on a carriage ride and we Mo-town music for the cocktail hour. Many of the guests (and staff!) stopped by to tell us how much they were enjoying the music. Following cocktails, the guests enjoyed dinner and music by Motor City HDJ. From the sound of things, Brett Cummins was creating a celebratory mood with his music. We wish Maureen and Jonathon the very best as they begin married life together and thank them for the privilege of being a part of their wedding day.
