The Carriage House At Pine Knob Provides Picturesque Backdrop For Outdoor Wedding

Pine Knob in Clarkston offers two banquet facilities; The Mansion and The Carriage House.  Built in 1927, The Carriage House originally housed the caretaker’s family for Colonel Waldon’s estate. The property has been transformed into a unique contemporary banquet facility with crystal chandeliers and picturesque floor to ceiling windows. While overlooking the golf course it also provides an outside pavilion for a one of a kind ceremony. The wooded golf course adds a breathtaking backdrop, with beautiful displays of nature at its finest.

Ben and Valarie chose to hold their outdoor wedding under the pavilion overlooking the golf course. Kurt Colone of Mike Staff Productions, was very helpful with cues. The bridesmaids wore a shimmering copper colored gown and walked with the groomsmen, flower girl and ring bearer to Jesu, Joy of Man’s Desiring. Valarie wore a stunning gown and walked with her father to Pachelbel’s Kanon in D. Jason Blazet, Ben’s stepfather, officiated the ceremony and spoke eloquently about the couple, their charming son, Hunter, and the formation of this new family. The couple selected contemporary music for the prelude and postlude. “Don’t Stop Believin” was Ben’s special request and we’re glad he was able to hear it. Love Story by Taylor Swift was played for their recessional followed by Starlight by Muse. Both generated compliments from several guests. We wish Ben, Valarie and Hunter a lifetime of happiness.

A Breeze and Formal Gardens Welcomes Guests at Pine Knob Mansion Wedding

IMG_2331Outdoor weddings always provide the challenge of unexpected weather.  Courtney and John had a humid July day for their outdoor ceremony  at The Mansion.  Originally a 19 room English Manor, The Mansion was built by Colonel Waldon in 1927. It sits on the highest natural point in Southeastern Michigan and is surrounded by exquisite manicured gardens. Due to it’s elevation, there is always a refreshing breeze to be found and shady seating available on the patio. The couple requested the romantic music of “Always”, “What a Wonderful World”, “The Ludlows” and “Here Comes the Sun” for there ceremony.  Samantha Hardenburgh acted as both bridesmaid and officiant!  She did an awesome job sharing personal anecdotes of the couple and their relationship.  Elise Brzozowksi from Frosted Pink Events had the day beautifully orchestrated.  Parsonage Events of Clarkston did the flowers while Jim Salter of JRS Mobile Sound and cousin to the couple, provided the DJ services for the reception. Following the ceremony, the guests enjoyed a cocktail hour followed by dinner in the Great Hall which features arched ceilings and stained glass windows.  If  you are looking for a unique and elegant setting for your wedding, The Mansion is worth a serious look.

“The Key To Love” Shared At Pine Knob Mansion Wedding

Pine Knob Mansion is an elegant setting for a wedding.  Once a family estate, The Mansion, a 19 room English Manor, sits on the highest natural point in Southeastern Michigan and is surrounded by exquisite manicured gardens. It’s Great Hall with arched ceilings and stained glass windows offers magnificent views of the sunrise and sunset. Sitting at the apex, a breeze is always present within the manicured garden surrounding the gazebo.

Xiang “Jojo” and Yangzhi “Z” kept the elegant theme for their ceremony by choosing all classical music.  The bridal party and darling ring bearer and flower girl walked to Campra’s Rigaudon.  Xiang had two special gentlemen, her father and a close family friend, escort her to the music of Kanon in D.  Jen House and Kendall from A Moment in Time Wedding and Event Production, along with Lisa alexander of Pine Knob,  orchestrated a gorgeous event along at this historic site.

Mr.Xinsheng Chang, family friend of the groom, directed the reading of “The Key of Love” in both English and Chinese.  This poem illustrates the traits of understanding, forgiveness, sharing, giving and respect as keys to a healthy marriage.

We played contemporary songs for their cocktail hour.  The songs by Green Day and Postal Service were a big hit.  When heads turn and guests begin looking over our shoulders at the music, we know we have a winner!  The weather was perfect for an afternoon outdoor wedding and we hope that their life as Mr. and Mrs. is filled with similar beauty.

Pine Knob Mansion Wedding

Congratulations to Christine and Zachary! They were married at the Pine Knob Mansion in Clarkston (http://www.pineknobmansion.com/mansion/index.html). They could not have had a more beautiful day. The weather was perfect! Reverend O’Grady performed a wonderful ceremony. Thank-you to the O’Gradys for always helping to make things run smoothly. The couple requested ‘What a Wonderful world’ for the seating of the parents, ‘Yellow’ for the bridesmaids, ‘Kanon’ for the bride, and ‘Bittersweet Symphony’ as their recessional. After the ceremony, we were asked to play nostalgic and contemporary pieces that would appeal to all ages.
