Vintage Wedding at Historic Meadowbrook Hall a Classic

IMG_1233This was our quartet’s last outdoor wedding of the year and the weather was perfect! Kara and Joe had a beautiful day to exchange their vows at the Pegasus garden in the company of family and friends. Reverend Sherry Mullins led a sentimental service composed of unique vows and readings. The bridal party had elegant green dresses with a lattice type top that fit the “vintage” theme. As the pictures show, the flowers from The Parsonage Events were stunning. In keeping with the theme, we played “Over the Rainbow” for the mothers seating, “What a Wonderful World” for the bridal party, “Here Comes the Sun” for Kara’s processional and “8 Days a Week” for the recessional. We have to mention the wonderful staff at Meadowbrook Hall. Kristen Burnett and her staff do a superb job providing cues and providing for our needs. They are efficient and we appreciate their support each time we visit.
Following the ceremony we had the pleasure of playing for the cocktail hour inside the “Great Estate.” Joe and Kara specified that they wanted classic rock as part of the music so we had a great time playing Kashmir by Led Zeppelin, “Don’t Stop Believin” by Journey and Smoke on the Water. It is always reassuring when guests pause to comment on our performance. We had several gentlemen express their surprise and delight at our repertoire. It makes our day when we hear “I didn’t think a string quartet could do that kind of music!” We know that they enjoyed the music during the remainder of the evening as our friends at Mike Staff Productions provided the music for the reception. Thank you Kara and Joe for allowing us the opportunity to play our “fun” stuff for your guests. We had a great time and wish you both the very best as you continue your lives together. IMG_1234
