A Timely Conclusion to Wedding at Reflecting Pond of Cranbrook House

Congratulations to Ian and Rita on their wedding last week at the Reflecting Pond of Cranbrook House in Bloomfield Hills. The Reverend Jerry O’Grady officiated with his wife Lucy acting as coordinator. It’s always a pleasure to work with this couple. Ian and Rita chose to stand at the top of the staircase overlooking the reflection pond and selected beautiful music to accompany this lovely location. We played Trumpet Tune for the parents, bridesmaid, three young flower girls and three handsome ring bearers. Rita chose to process to Purcell’s Trumpet Voluntaire. During the sand ceremony, we played Jesu, Joy of Man’s Desiring. As the ceremony progressed, it became apparent that the weather was turning quickly. Fortunately, we were able to play the recessional before the downpour occurred. Thunder could be heard as Rev. O’Grady encouraged the guests to proceed to a covered area. There are always unexpected variables with outdoor weddings but this one turned out beautifully. We wish Ian and Rita the very best as they begin married life together.
