Wedding at Shelby Township’s Heritage Garden

Congratulations to Heather and Russell on their wedding ceremony Saturday at Heritage Garden. Shelby Township’s Heritage Garden is adjacent to a 2 1/2 acre spring-fed lake and surrounded by ornate wrought iron fencing. The garden is maintained by the Shelby Gardener’s Club and it looked perfect for Heather and Russell’s special day. Despite an early rainstorm, the sun shined on cue for their ceremony.
The bridal party, dressed in a warm chocolate brown, processed to Pachelbel’s Canon while Heather chose the traditional Bridal Chorus for her processional. The flowers provided a beautiful compliment to the dresses with cream and lavender roses. John, the youth pastor from The Point Church in Goodrich, conducted the ceremony and beautifully outlined the scripture from Ephesians 5:25. During the sand ceremony, Heather’s friend Quin sang a lovely version of Love Me Tender by Nora Jones.
This was certainly a family event. It was touching to see the children involved in the ceremony on both the bride and grooms side. Congratulations to Heather and Russell and we wish them the best as they begin their new life together.
